Cabello Caxixi
Caxixi (ka-she-she) or basket shakers are used with berimbau, for sound effects and as a rhythmic rattle. They are made of wicker filled with seeds. The flat bottom is made of dried gourd. Quality varies and we have found the caxixi hand made by Cabello in Brazil top quality for sound and endurance. Limited in quantity. Made in Brazil. Pearl Pandeiro
The Pandeiro is the Brazilian equivalent of a tambourine. However, it is played as a drum. Pearl has designed their instrument to be light weight and easy to tune. Two models are available. The 10" comes with a goatskin head. The 12" has a plastic head. A carrying bag and tuning key are included with the drum.
Pearl Timbao
The Pearl Timbao has a plastic head and is made of a light weight fiberglass body which is very durable. The size is 34" high, with a 14" diameter head and 5 tuning lugs. It weighs 19 pounds and a strap is included. In Brazil the Timbao is much like the Conga drum. It is normally played standing and with a shoulder strap. It is tuned to a high pitch.

Gon Bops Berimbau Caxixi
Material: All-Natural materials, Sustainable Wild Banana Tree Seeds, Hard Gourd Skin Base. Tone: Provides excellent rhythmic accompaniment and color. Hand-Woven in Brazil this caxixi is used primarily with Berimbau. The combination of the red seeds striking the gourd-skin base, produces a sharp, high-pitched tone, contrasting the softer, deeper pitch when the seeds strike a woven body. The shape of the handle is designed to be easily played in hand when playing the Berimbau, the traditional Brazilian wooden musical bow.
Pearl Surdo
The bass drum of Brazilian music is the Surdo. Lightweight and constructed wood shell, these surdos are perfect for traditional Samba. They are tunable and come with 2-ply heads with the outer ply made of synthetic leather to have more low end. Included is a shoulder strap. Legs are optional. Available in 3 sizes: 22",20",18".
