The Reco Reco is a Brazilian metal instrument with springs. It is used to play rhythm, effects and colors. Pete Engelhart has designed his Reco Reco with the addition of a cowbell in the body. The Pearl Fiber Guiro is ideal for situations when volume is necessary as well as clean articulation. It has 2 surfaces: one gourd, for traditional Afro-Cuban influenced styles; the other metal, for Dominican Merengue influences.
