Ghungroos Anklet of Sixty Bells
Ghungroos are anklet bells made by attaching strings of small bells (known as Ghunghroo, Ghunghru, Ghungur or Salangai) onto velvet pads. Each anklet is comprised of two pads. Each pad has three rows of ten bells per pad, for a grand total of sixty bells. The 5/8″ diameter jingle-style brass bells are made in the North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, which is well known for quality brass manufacturers. This common Middle-East and South-Asian dance accessory is very versatile and may be held in the hand, worn on the ankles or wrists, or tied to your drums! Colors may vary.
